went to santa barbara yesterday. went to laguna beach the day before. the beach is really pleasant. i haven't gone in the water at all, but i sit on the sand and read and it's so pleasant. it's not even that hot. at laguna beach, i stumbled into an art gallery displaying dozens of works by vladimir kush. they are awesome in their surrealistic splendor and akin to dali and magritte.

thoroughly enjoying department of eagles - in ear park (10.08).

look at how bizarre and weirdly isolating that album art is. like a dear caught in the headlights, but you're the deer, and the headlights are the trees, or you, or something. i love it. i didn't pay attention to it until just now, after a few listens. it rules affirmatively. RLZFRMTVLY. apparently it consists of daniel rossen, of grizzly bear, and his college roommate, or something. it sounds entirely grizzly bearesque, with imagery of haunted carnivals imagined by children and late nineteenth century oil derrick explosions, should such explosions be set to a soundtrack.

off to watch the newest episode of weeds. i hope pam makes an appearance. my sweat smells like peanuts! tomorrow marks the beginning of my solo rompings around southern california. just called my physician and meriter hospital in madison to have medical documentation of my once deathly ill liver that resulted in present-day sleepless nights and anxiety--both of which marijuana can cure (or at least abate somewhat)--faxed to dr. rodger barnes on wilshire boulevard in los angeles. accsocal rules. groovy.
