some reviews

"a friend is a person with whom i may be sincere. before him i may think aloud. i am arrived at last in the presence of a man so real and equal, that i may drop even those undermost garments of dissimulation, courtesy, and second thought, which men never put off, and may deal with him with the simplicity and wholeness with which one chemical atom meets another." /ralph waldo emerson

did you know: smoking pot after exercising greatly intensifies the effects of the high.
--
1 = intense body stone
5 = neutral, shifted reality
10 = intense head high

mango (sativa): 9. very happy head high that makes it seem as though all your thoughts rushed up to the very top of your head and are trying to break out. ate some mango afterward (freshly cut and dehydrated), it was phenomenal. the smoke is pungently fruity, but not necessarily with a definitive eponymous flavor like the banana kush or butter.

green monster (sativa): 8. not quite as strong as the mango, but a sweet-tasting smoke with a totally decent high. this is the strain i bought most of, at an ounce for $230. that comes out to just under $29 an eighth, and it's up there with the best sativas i've ever smoked.

pineapple haze (sativa): 7. really nice, pineappley taste to this, true to its name. not the most potent sativa i've had, a little leafy, not quite as dense as some of the other sativas i've picked up. still a great smoke.

power plant (hybrid, sxi): 10. the best smoke i have smoked in america or otherwise. also the most expensive pot i've ever purchased in america or otherwise. an quarter ran me $170, which is $85 an eighth. ridiculous. it was worth it though, because in most cases (but not all) higher prices will get you higher quality meds. this flower is so pungent it makes you cock your head away when you put your nose up to it and inhale (or get really giddy and have a nosegasm). the smoke is smooth and flavorful, kind of earthy and robust but without the metallic aftertaste of something like silver haze. it looks and tastes as though it's strung with microscopic candy canes. super energetic and giggly head high, makes you want to get up and dance in the street. an amazing strain for sure.

j-og (indica): 1. i think this might be a cross between jack herrer and og, both of which are strong indicas ERGO nighttime meds. very sedative indeed. it's kind of a process to get my body to ambulate and do things. it's very emotionally evocative, as well. more so than the green monster. this was probably around $60-65 an eighth, judging by the quality and amount i bought (which is an eighth). this junk is strawng.

you can really start to see why this stuff is only available by prescription. not that it's dangerous or only valid in the eyes of a doctor or the government, the latter of which it isn't, but it does what it's supposed to do. that's why so many people do it--because it works. if you have trouble sleeping, there are flowers you can buy that will knock you the fuck out. and if you're depressed or not eating for whatever reasons, there are flowers you can smoke that will make those things all better, too. or at least more manageable.

watched fargo tonight. hadn't watched it in a number of years, and i can see why i forgot most of it. it's rull violent. great, though. i plan on watching it again several times in the future. william h. macy is stellar and makes me feel anxious throughout the movie. ooh it's so good.

Although the film itself is completely fictional, the Coen brothers claim that many of the events that take place in the movie were actually based on true events from other cases that they threw together to make one story. Joel Coen said, "We weren't interested in that kind of fidelity. The basic events are the same as in the real case, but the characterizations are fully imagined." He later noted, "If an audience believes that something's based on a real event, it gives you permission to do things they might otherwise not accept."
